Stravinsky/Piatigorsky: Aria from Suite Italienne arr. for violin and cello
Stravinsky and Piatigorsky collaborated in 1933 on Suite Italiennefor cello and piano based on Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, first revising Piatigorsky’s 1931 arrangement in Paris and continuing onboard the SS Rex en route from Italy to New York. Piatigorsky later created an arrangement for violin and cello for himself and Jascha Heifetz and in 1973 arranged a version for four cellos which he performed with his students. (1933 (1963?))
