Dear Piatigorsky,

The New Friends of Music in New York
shall devote their next season exclusively
to Beethoven works. They asked me to parti-
cipate. I refused to play Sonatas, solo or
ensemble, but expressed my willingness to
perform in three recitals the beautiful
trios – under the condition that you and Huberman
would do it with me. Let me, please, know
as quickly as possible, whether you are
attracted.

With heartiest greetings

Yours –
Artur Schnabel
